First impressions count, and none more so than the entry statement to a new community. That's why significant time, consideration and planning has gone into designing Everleigh's entry so that it warmly welcomes residents home and sets the tone for the entire masterplanned community.
We sat down with Matt Franzmann, Director of Form Landscape Architects, who is at the helm of Everleigh’s landscape design, to chat about what inspired the entry statement and what it means for locals.
Can you please explain the concept behind the Everleigh entry statement?
The entry statement has been an incredibly exciting feature to work on and we approached it wanting to create something unique and, most importantly, to deliver a feature that develops a strong identity for the site as a whole.
After kicking around a few really great concepts, we settled on a sculptural element that would withstand the test of time and serve as a beautiful visual display upon entering the community.
What we’ve come up with is our own interpretation of the stunning mountains and natural surrounds that form the backdrop to the Everleigh site.
To achieve this we conceived a steel sculpture, which comprises 80 origami-like curved steel pieces, which alone are a rigid element – but together make up a flowing statement that has an organic element like the mountains they represent.
How will the Everleigh entry statement and overall landscape design differ to other communities?
The vision we have is that the entry statement’s sculptural element will create a connecting design thread that runs throughout the rest of the community. We have created little cues drawn from the entry statement that pop-up all over Everleigh.
Everleigh has been an exciting project for us in that it’s a masterplanned community, meaning we are able to have a theme running throughout the landscape design that ultimately ties everything together and compliments the abundant natural surrounds and green spaces.
Everleigh offers an opportunity for buyers wanting to secure a slice of one of Queensland’s future growth hotspots - whether it be land or a house and land package.
With a planned State primary school, neighbourhood centre and more than 120 hectares of conservation, sport and recreational parklands, Everleigh will be the perfect blend of convenience and lifestyle.
