When first home buyer, Darren Pennisi, says he decided to build in Everleigh because of how 'active' the community is, he means it in more ways than one.

The personal trainer has been part of the Everleigh story from the beginning - signing up to provide his services for free as part of a charity fundraiser with developer Mirvac in 2017, before work had even started on the first homesite in the masterplanned community.

Since then, he’s generously donated his time through his business, Dazza Fitness, for more than two years, providing free Saturday fitness classes in Everleigh Park for residents of the community and broader local area.

"Through the boot camps I've met so many locals from Everleigh and Greenbank, and I'm so excited to now officially be part of the community," says Darren, affectionately known as Dazza.

Along with his mother Bernie, Darren moved into his brand-new four bedroom home at Everleigh in February, which he built with Bella Queensland Properties.

He says the decision to move to Everleigh was an easy one, bringing him closer to his business, which he originally established in Springfield before it grew its wings in Greenbank.

"Greenbank seemed like a good area to set up, so I moved Dazza Fitness over not long before the first charity event with Mirvac, and when the community starting taking shape, I thought it would be the perfect place to build my first home," he says.

"I had considered other communities in the area and put the feelers out, but things didn't really line up. Everleigh just felt right.

"I like the community atmosphere and how engaged the community is with regular activities and events, organised through community manager, Suzanne, and her team at Enriching Communities Greenbank.

"It is how I became involved with the community to start with, and it is great to see other people being engaged in everything from fitness classes to kids activities and craft get-togethers."

Darren says the masterplan for Everleigh also set it apart.

"I really love the way the community is coming together, particularly the parks and open spaces," he says.

"I visited Mirvac's Gainsborough Greens community in Pimpama, which gave me a real feel of what the company is like as a developer and its focus on creating parks and green open spaces, which is important to me for outdoor recreation and fitness."
